Matthew Young
Associate Attorney
Matthew J. Young is an accomplished attorney with a diverse background in complex litigation and oil and gas. Having seen how people and small businesses can get lost in fights between big corporations, Matthew is committed to making sure every party gets the fair representation they deserve.
Matthew is an Ohio native who grew up in Bucyrus, Ohio before moving to the Columbus area as a teenager. He graduated from Denison University in 2007 and went straight into law school. After graduating from Capital University Law School in 2010, he went to work in the oil and gas industry where he cured title issues, issued title opinions, and conducted litigation to help develop the natural resources of Ohio.
Wanting to expand beyond oil and gas, Matthew has also worked on complex business litigation matters at the law firms of Vorys, Sater, Seymour, and Pease and BakerHostetler as well as the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.
In a desire to continue to expand his practice, Matthew transitioned to Kohl & Cook Law Firm where he practices mortgage foreclosure defense, consumer protection, and civil litigation for individuals and small businesses.
