Civil Litigation Attorney (Columbus)
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Salary: $120,000 annually, with a $5,000 bonus after 90 days

Kohl & Cook is hiring an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join our growing Columbus-based law firm on a partner track. This full-time, in-person role is ideal for attorneys who have 5-10 years of trial and litigation experience and want to take the lead on state and federal cases involving real estate, consumer protection, and business disputes.

Key Responsibilities
- Handle complex state and federal litigation matters from pre-lawsuit through resolution.
- Litigate bench and jury trials in Common Pleas and/or Federal Court
- Draft, edit, and finalize legal documents, including pleadings, motions for summary judgment, oppositions, discovery responses, trial briefs, and post-trial motions
- Develop case strategies, evaluate liability and damages, and communicate clearly with clients about risks and goals
- Collaborate with partners and supervise junior attorneys, providing guidance on legal analysis, research, and litigation tactics
Education and Experience Qualifications
- 5-10 years of hands-on civil litigation experience in State and/or Federal courts
- Active license to practice law in Ohio
- Demonstrated trial experience—bench and/or jury
- Strong legal research and writing skills with a track record of quality legal drafting
- Experience managing discovery issues and court motion practice
- Prior experience mentoring or supervising junior attorneys is a plus
Position Details
- Title: Associate Attorney (Partner track)
- Base Salary: $120,000 annually
- Bonus: $5,000 after 90 days, additional merit-based bonuses thereafter
- Office: Columbus, Ohio
- Relocation Assistance: Consideration for reasonable moving expenses
