Lauren Purdy

Lauren Purdy joined Kohl & Cook Law Firm, LLC in 2025. She has a proven track record of leadership, litigation expertise, and regulatory compliance. Lauren spent seven years as a civil litigator where she managed cases through trial, including multiple jury trials and over 50 bench trials. Her prior litigation experience spans collections, appellate work, insurance defense, aviation, injury claims, and insurance fraud. Lauren then transitioned to the Ohio Department of Transportation where she spent almost 15 years working in various positions that focused on construction law, contractor disputes, administrative hearings, and large-scale contract administration. Lauren spent the last 10 years at ODOT as the first Deputy Director of the Division of Opportunity, Diversity, and Inclusion, building the Division from the ground up and successfully leading a team of 41 individuals to bring the agency into federal compliance, safeguarding crucial funding.
Lauren earned a BA in Zoology from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2000 and a Juris Doctorate from Capital University Law School in 2003. She lives in Johnstown, Ohio with her son Jack and two horses, Josie and Pokey.
